DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF CRIME TRACKING SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF IVO POLICE DIVISION, EBONYI STATE)

ABSTRACT
This project work intends to automate the existing criminal records of the Nigeria police using Ivo Police criminal investigating department Ishiagu, Ebonyi State. The essence was to produce durable criminal records and avoidable lost of criminal records. Structural database management system (DBMS) was used in its development in other to eliminate redundancy in the compilation, its friendliness in responding to the user exhibits and also its reliability and efficiency in tracking down criminals. Another important feature of this system was that it provides user with the facilities for having the hard copies or print out of any relevant document as well as the facilities to communication with the system. Tracking is the observing of persons or objects on the move and supplying a timely ordered sequence of respective location data to a model e.g. capable to serve for depicting the motion on a display capability. The traditional and age-old system of intelligence and criminal record maintenance has failed to live up to the requirements of the existing crime scenario. Manual processes neither provide accurate, reliable and comprehensive data round the clock nor does it help in trend prediction and decision support.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

ABSTRACT
This research work documents computer science department’s information system for managing its student’s data. The system is named CSDSIMS, an acronym for Computer Science Department Students Information Management System. It is developed and compiled using the Visual Basic programming language, and on Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.5 under a Windows platform. The research work includes a critical self-reflective commentary on Schools information management system.

CONSTRUCTION OF A USB AUDIO FM TRANSMITTER.

ABSTRACT
This project is actually based upon the designing of a Short range wireless USB-FM Audio Transmitter which can transmit data contained in the USB flash drive over short distance using ROHMR BU9458kv Semiconductor chip. The chip is designed in a new packaging called VQFP- 64(Very-fine-pitch Quad Flat Pack). The project has actually been done in two parts, designing & analysing. The designing part has been explained with the help of schematics & circuit diagrams. The first section is FM Transmission and the second is USB-mp3 module. The FM Transmitter is designed by using two BC-547 transistors. The USB mp3- Module is designed by using ROHMR BU9458kv Semiconductor chip. The mp3 songs can be played directly from the USB flash drive by using MODE- 1(default mode) of the semiconductor chip without programming it. Successful Transmission of audio signal through the designed FM Transmitter is a proof of the correctness of the design. The experimental results on FM transmitter ensure that design is capable to transmit USB data if it is implemented completely on commercial basis. USB Audio FM Transmitter is an Electronic device which, with the aid of an antenna, produces radio waves. The transmitter itself generates a radio frequency alternating current, which is applied to the antenna. When excited by this alternating current, the antenna radiates radio waves.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ONLINE INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FUND PAYMENT SYSTEM (CASE STUDY OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FUND (I.T.F)

ABSTRACT

It is pertinent to say that students are encountering problems in receiving their industrial training allowance. As a computer science student, we have to take the lead while others follow. Setting the pace in everything that has to do with computing is what matters so long as I am concern. In a bid to put a stop to that, I have decided to develop a workable website for the school that will enable the students receive their allowance on any bank of their choice and visit any cybercafé all over the world, log in and fill the necessary information without having to go to the school bursary.
What motivated me is the way people travel from far, in other to receive their allowance and go to the SIWES unit for their cheque collection instead of receiving their money online. This website is designed using ASP.NET and dream weaver. It is an interactive website. And it is intended to provide the services that are mostly needed by the students for their industrial training allowance. The students will now be in a better position to receive their money and bank will submit to the industrial training fund headquarter and/or institution the print out of the total number of students whom they have credited their account for confirmation. Therefore the purpose of this project is to design a system that will improve the speed of processing the rate at which problem solving is achieved and eliminating completely the problems encountered in the manual system of Industrial Training Fund payment, whereby project will help the students to collect their money without the risk of transporting from their various places of attachment down to school. Also to convert the manual system of ITF payment, ascertain the payment and the schools and so on, into a computerized system.

A WEB BASED SYSTEM FOR ONLINE STUDENT REGISTRATION. (CASE STUDY OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE UMUDIKE)

ABSTRACT
This project deals with the design of an online web based system for student registration. The project is motivated by the need for student to register for admission without coming to the school to pick up registration form which are don manually, student can always register for admission via online web based system.  problems without having to resort to presumptions and conjectures. Particularly, it is expected that the proposed design would ensure that Michael okpara university of Agriculture umudike have proper assistance in times of mask number of student seeking for position in the institution. For this purpose a rule- base artificial intelligence (AI) technique was utilized to obtain theoretical and practical expert system parameters, and then a conceptual web system was designed. The online system functioning is based on the database which are also been program, which make up its knowledge base. The new system was developed using HTML programming language and notepad access database. This language was chosen because of its easy syntax and features for developing online based application.

THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) IN NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES (A CASE STUDY OF JOHN HARRIS LIBRARY AND BENSON IDAHOSA UNIVERSITY)

ABSTRACT
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has brought unprecedented Changes and transformation to academic libraries and information services. Taking into cognizance the recent trends in ICT and the Nigerian situation, this work elicits the impact of ICT in Nigerian University Libraries. The primary Objectives were to ascertain the level of automation; to determine the usefulness of ICT resources; the effectiveness of ICT resources; the required Skills in using ICT resources and the factors militating against the effective use of ICT. John Harris Library, University of Benin and Benson Idahosa University Libraries, both in Edo State of Nigeria were used as case study. The survey research design was employed and the instrument used for data collection was the Questionnaire. Simple tables and percentages were used to analyze the data collected.

DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF HOSTEL ALLOCATION/RESERVATION SYSTEM (A CASE STUDY OF FEDERAL POLYTHENIC NEKEDE, OWERRI)

CHAPTER ONE
                                      INTRODUCTION
1.1Introduction
Over the years, computer has grown from the basis of thermionic valves which is a bulky and high power consuming systems to the miniaturized microprocessor-based computer which is more portable. This led to easy acquisition of computer system has resulted to which talked about “Computer Age”.
Almost all human activities cannot be effectively and efficiently done without the computer being applied or mentioned in the course of action.
