AN ENTERPRISE DATA WAREHOUSING SYSTEM FOR HIGH INSTITUTIONS

ABSTRACT

This project is an enterprise data warehousing system for exams and record unit FCA, Ishiagu which will help to over-come the undesirable problem associated with misplacement of student records, student’s grades, slow and strenuous accessibility of student report and record, inaccurate record keeping and poor information management within the schools. Here the aims and objectives of the study will be easily retrieved with increased data security, and there will be reduction in the amount of resources, which will lower the cost of processing of student transcript, since information is stored in a database with reduced data redundancy. This will also prevent over-working of personnel and reduce in the bulkiness of file and record. This program developed/designed will ensure easy flow of information in the school and accurate information management in all school.

WEB BASED APPLICATION FOR INSURANCE SERVICES CASE STUDY OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY

                                                                ABSTRACT
The present system of the insurance companies is characterized by the manual method as a result serious threat has been posed to the operation of the service and too much workload on the staffs. The manual method involves the marketing staffs moving from one location to the other to meet up with the requirement of their broker and also the files and data of their broker are stored in cabinet which are easily destroyed by rodents. With regards to this method the insurance computer application for insurance company would be developed this would have the ability to remotely connect insurance brokers in any location for them to carry out their insurance services and also their data would be stored in a secured database. In the software design, to achieve this task I intend to use the Microsoft visual studio platform and Microsoft access 2007 as the database to store the information.

INFANT FEEDING PRACTICES ADOPTED BY NURSING MOTHERS IN AMASIRI, AFIKPO NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
Infant feeding practices play a pivotal role in determining optimal development of infants. Poor breast feeding and infant feeding practices have adverse consequences for the health and nutritional status of children, which in turn has adverse consequences on the mental and physical development. The three forms o f malnutrition; mild, moderate and severe have varying degrees of effects on the development of the child. It has been reported that more than 80% of deaths associated with childhood malnutrition result from mild and moderate malnutrition (WHO/UNICEF, 1999).  Adequate nutritional well-being during early childhood is critical and fundamental to long term development and attainment of each child’s full human potential (World Health Organization, 2005). Childhood malnutrition is a worldwide problem and the most widely spread disorder in tropical and sub-tropical areas, responsible for high infant morbidity and mortality rate observed among young children in poor households of developing countries(Smith & Haddad, 2000). Although the number of malnourished children in some regions of the world is decreasing, the proportion of malnourished children in developing countries and Sub-Saharan Africa in particular seems to be increasing rapidly. Inadequate infant and young child feeding practices coupled with high rate of infectious diseases due to poor hygiene and caring practices are proximate causes of malnutrition during the first two years of life (Semba & Bloem, 2008). The second half of an infant’s first year is an especially vulnerable time, when breast milk alone is no longer sufficient to meet his or her nutritional requirement and complementary feeding should start (WHO, 2001).
